Playback engine

A hardened FFmpeg pipeline plays the formats the stock Apple TV app refuses to. If your provider streams it, EasyTV plays it.

  • Containers: HLS, MPEG-TS, MP4, MKV
  • Video codecs: H.264, HEVC (incl. HEVC over MPEG-TS), MPEG-2
  • Audio: AAC, AC-3, E-AC-3, MP2, MP3
  • Subtitles: SRT, WebVTT, embedded text tracks
  • Hardware decoding on Apple TV 4K for smooth, cool playback

Add providers two ways and keep as many as you like. Switch between them any time from settings.

  • M3U playlists — paste a URL or load a file
  • Xtream Codes API — host, username, password
